The University of 精东影业 hosted the 21st Winter School of Mineral Sciences, which this year welcomed participants under the theme 鈥淪mart Minerals鈥�, exploring how the unique properties of minerals serve as keys to a better understanding of nature and the development of modern technologies. The two-day event took place in the University鈥檚 Conference Hall on the 2nd floor.

The program served both as scientific training and a professional conference, bridging classical questions in Earth sciences with increasingly important modern applications. Attendees enjoyed comprehensive invited lectures alongside short research presentations, which complemented each other and provided an extensive overview of the main directions in the field of 鈥渟mart minerals.鈥�

A total of 85 participants attended, representing 44 domestic educational and research institutions as well as companies. The presentations highlighted the diversity of the field, covering topics from mineral鈥搘ater interactions and interfacial processes to environmental applications. The combined message of the conference sessions and research reports was that understanding the 鈥渋ntelligent behavior鈥� of minerals鈥攖heir unique physical and chemical properties鈥攊s becoming increasingly crucial across many domains, from interpreting natural processes to practical technological solutions.

In addition to the formal program, informal discussions and personal meetings played a key role, strengthening the community spirit of the Winter School of Mineral Sciences. Over the two days, participants not only gained insight into the latest research results but also had the opportunity to build professional connections and exchange perspectives across different areas of expertise.
