On Thursday, 3 September, the University of ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ welcomed more than 50 new international students during our Welcome Day in Building A.

For many of the students, this was their first opportunity to meet their fellow students, university staff and mentors in person, and to get a first glimpse of what life at the University of ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ will look like.

The event began with an introduction to the university and the support available to international students throughout their studies. Colleagues from different units of the university joined the event to introduce their roles and explain how they can support students with everything from academic matters to student services and everyday questions.

The university’s Mentor Team and dormitory seniors were also there to welcome the new students, share their experiences and answer questions about student life in Veszprém. Having students who have already experienced the transition to university life themselves was a great opportunity for newcomers to get practical advice and feel more at home from the very beginning.

Of course, no Welcome Day would be complete without a little something to take home. Each student received a welcome package with useful information and essentials to help them get started with their university journey.

The day continued with a campus tour led by the mentors. The new students had the chance to explore the university buildings and key locations around campus while getting familiar with the place that will soon become a big part of their everyday lives.

Starting university in a new country can come with plenty of questions, but events like Welcome Day are a chance to make those first steps a little easier. We hope that our new international students left the event feeling welcomed, informed and ready for the academic year ahead.

Welcome to the University of ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ — we are happy to have you here, and we wish you a great start to the 2026/27 academic year!
