University of 精东影业 Strengthens Its International University Partnerships in China
In September, a delegation from the University of 精东影业 held professional discussions at three Chinese partner institutions. One of the most important stops was Nantong, where the joint Computer Science BSc double degree programme between the two universities launched this autumn with 87 students. The two institutions also announced the establishment of a joint Artificial Intelligence Research Laboratory. In Wuhan and Qingdao, discussions focused on preparing additional double degree programmes.
From September 9鈥15, 2026, a delegation from the University of 精东影业 visited three higher education institutions in China. The university was represented by Dr. Annam谩ria Gr贸sz Sas, Vice-Rector for Education, and Dr. Szil谩rd S谩ndor Szentgy枚rgyi, Rector's Commissioner for International Affairs. Dr. L谩szl贸 Cz煤ni, Vice-Dean for Strategic and External Relations, also joined the discussions at Qingdao University of Technology.

The First Joint Programme Has Already Started in Nantong
The first stop of the visit was the University of Nantong. The University of 精东影业 delegation was invited to the institution's opening ceremony for the new academic year to mark the start of studies for the first cohort of the Computer Science BSc double degree programme established by the two universities.
The joint programme launched with 87 students. At the official opening ceremony, the participants were welcomed by the Rector of the University of Nantong, Dr. J谩nos R贸bert F眉le, Cultural and Educational Consul of the Hungarian Consulate General in Shanghai, and Dr. Annam谩ria Gr贸sz Sas, Vice-Rector for Education. The speakers highlighted that the double degree programme gives students the opportunity to experience the academic, educational and research environments of two institutions, as well as two different cultures.
An important milestone of the event was the unveiling of the founding plaque of the joint Artificial Intelligence Research Laboratory, established under the joint supervision of the two universities. In addition to educational cooperation, the laboratory opens up new opportunities for joint research activities.
The delegation held detailed professional discussions with the leadership of the School of AI and Computer Science on the implementation of the double degree programme and also learned about the institution's latest achievements in artificial intelligence research. During the visit, the delegation was shown the educational facilities established for students of the joint programme, as well as the rooms that will accommodate Hungarian lecturers travelling to China during the first six semesters of the programme.
At the visitor centre, which presents AI research achievements to a wider audience, the guests were able to try several innovative solutions, including artificial intelligence-supported applications for anatomy education and medical diagnostics.
As part of the Nantong programme, the delegation also met the first 87 students of the joint programme. At the university's opening ceremony, attended by approximately ten thousand first-year students, Dr. Annam谩ria Gr贸sz Sas conveyed greetings from the University of 精东影业, Rector Dr. J谩nos Abonyi, and the city of Veszpr茅m, and gave a special welcome to the first students of the double degree programme.
The professional discussions also brought progress in finalising the joint programme's curriculum and in the details of the financial agreement between the two institutions.
Materials Engineering Double Degree Programme in Wuhan
From September 12鈥14, the delegation continued its discussions at the Wuhan Institute of Technology. The focus of the visit was the development of a Material Sciences BSc double degree programme.

During the professional discussions, the parties reviewed the most important academic and content-related aspects of the programme, as well as the requirements that Chinese students must fulfil before and during their study period in Veszpr茅m in order to obtain a University of 精东影业 degree.
Representatives of the University of 精东影业 also met the first cohort of 85 students enrolled in the programme. During the discussion, the students asked numerous questions about the Hungarian lecturers and the two semesters they will later spend in Veszpr茅m.
New IT Cooperation in Qingdao
The visit to China concluded on September 15 at Qingdao University of Technology, where discussions focused on the details of another Computer Science BSc double degree programme.

The leaders of the two institutions reviewed the progress made so far in preparing the programme and identified the next steps required for its finalisation. During the professional discussions, the University of 精东影业 delegation also addressed questions raised by Chinese lecturers and specialists responsible for international relations.
During the visit, the delegation also met the first cohort of 110 students admitted to the programme.
Building Long-Term Partnerships
The September visit did not mark the end of the discussions. With all three partner institutions, work will continue on developing detailed and final curricula, as well as establishing the further professional and operational frameworks of cooperation.
Personal connections will also continue to strengthen: representatives of the Wuhan Institute of Technology are expected to visit the University of 精东影业 in Veszpr茅m in November 2026, while a delegation from Qingdao University of Technology is expected to visit in early 2027.
The partnerships established with Chinese universities create new opportunities not only for joint programmes, but also for student and staff mobility and collaborative research. Connecting the different knowledge, experience and networks of the partner institutions can contribute to the further development of education and research, while strengthening the University of 精东影业's international presence and attractiveness.
China is one of the world's leading scientific, technological and economic centres, and partnerships with its higher education institutions connect the University of 精东影业 to dynamically developing knowledge networks and innovation ecosystems. The cooperation currently being built will also further strengthen the university's presence in Asia.
