The VoWoCo Project Launched Through International Cooperation – A New Era for Women’s Entrepreneurship
Supporting women’s economic independence and entrepreneurial development, the VoWoCo – Volcanoes’ Women Co-creation project was launched in October 2025 within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme. The initiative brings together partners from Hungary, Portugal, Italy, and Türkiye in a collaborative international effort.

The 28-month programme aims to empower women entrepreneurs and women seeking career changes who are looking for new directions in the world of work. Through research, mentoring programmes, and digital learning materials, VoWoCo supports women’s professional development while strengthening the network of European entrepreneurial communities.
“Empowering women also boosts the global economy. Through diversity, we are better able to understand the problems we need to solve, says Cristina Aleixendri Muñoz, startup founder and recipient of the EIT Woman Award. Inspired by this vision, VoWoCo seeks to provide practical knowledge, a supportive community, and inspiration for women entrepreneurs across Europe.
“We would like VoWoCo to create real opportunities for women who are restarting or rebuilding their careers, said Eszter Nagyné Czuri, project coordinator and President of the BENT Balatoni Női Vállalkozói Egyesület.
In its initial phase, the project has already begun conducting international research and developing a skills matrix to map the key competencies most needed by women entrepreneurs in today’s economic environment. Based on these findings, a multilingual online curriculum and mentoring programme will be developed. A total of 80 women entrepreneurs from the participating countries will take part in testing the programme.
Mentoring will focus on collaboration and co-creation, with participants applying their newly acquired knowledge directly to their own business ideas. At the end of the project period, the completed training materials will be made freely accessible to anyone via the project’s official website. The VoWoCo team believes that women-led businesses are not only economic drivers but also engines of social development — where women succeed, communities grow stronger.
The project is led by the BENT Balatoni Női Vállalkozói Egyesület, which has several years of experience and an extensive network among local women entrepreneurs. Beyond coordinating international cooperation and project management, it plays a key role in engaging, supporting, and motivating women entrepreneurs, drawing on its in-depth understanding of the community’s needs and connections.
The University of ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ participates in the VoWoCo project as an associated partner. Its primary responsibility is the development of the curriculum and the online learning platform. The Hungarian expert team will design practical modules based on research results and entrepreneurial feedback. The goal is to create a flexible, inclusive, and high-quality digital learning environment that offers real training and retraining opportunities for women who are already entrepreneurs or planning to start a business. In doing so, the project seeks to enhance the accessibility, quality, and practical relevance of adult education at regional, national, and international levels.
