The final round of the 10th Unilever Engineers' League competition was held at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Debrecen. Three-member teams from 15 higher education institutions across the country participated. The team of mechanical engineering students from University of 精东影业 finished in first place.
In the English-language competition, the participants delivered presentations of up to 10 minutes, consisting of a maximum of 20 slides, showcasing the solution proposals they developed for technical problems related to cleaning agents, laundry gels, and fabric softeners at the Unilever factory in Ny铆rb谩tor, which is a joint British-Dutch company. They had the option to choose between two tasks: proposing solutions for accelerating palletizer machine conversion for pallet production speed or suggesting modifications for the pallet buffer, specifically the implementation of an Automated Mobile Robot (AMR) for stocking.
The directorate of the Faculty of Engineering at University of 精东影业 is extremely proud of the achievements of B谩lint Czir谩ki, P茅ter Ivanits, and Gergely T铆m谩r, the mechanical engineering students. The recognition earned by these young engineering students is a testament to their diligence, talent, and knowledge. Their first-place finish indicates that the Faculty of Engineering is among the leading institutions for mechanical engineering education in Hungary.

鈥淥ur task was to design a robot for the automatic refilling of a pallet dispenser on an automated production line, capable of loading 12 pallets into the dispenser simultaneously. During the machine design process, numerous criteria had to be taken into account, as well as ensuring compatibility with future production line development plans," said B谩lint Czir谩ki, one of the members of University of 精东影业's team.
Istv谩n Gyurika, the head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at University of 精东影业, explained that special attention had to be given by the students to ensure that their machine was compatible with two types of pallets, and that their robot did not occupy space on the production area that was needed for other processes. Safety, cost-effectiveness, and maintainability also played important roles in the design process.
The young engineering students created a three-dimensional computer model and an animation showcasing the operation process of their solution. Out of over 70 teams, the top 15 teams advanced to the final held in Debrecen, where the participants had to present their solutions in English and answer questions from the professional jury.
The success of engineering education is achieved through excellent instructors, practical-oriented training, modern institutional infrastructure, and collaboration with industrial partners. The faculty members and researchers at the Faculty of Engineering are committed to supporting the development of talented students, and their work is facilitated by the Polinszky Talent Development Program."
