Preparing Your English Language Requirements: What You Need to Apply to the University of 精东影业

Applying to a university abroad means preparing several documents, and proof of language proficiency is an important part of the process.

If you are planning to study in English, you need to make sure you can provide the right proof of your English proficiency 鈥 or determine whether you may be exempt from submitting an English language test result.

At the University of 精东影业, English proficiency is required for English-taught programmes. However, specific requirements may vary depending on the programme, so always check the admission requirements of your chosen programme before applying.

Here is what you should know before preparing your application.

1. Do I need to speak Hungarian?

No. If you are an international student applying to an English-taught programme at the University of 精东影业, you do not need to prove your Hungarian language proficiency for admission.

Your studies will be conducted in English.

Of course, learning some Hungarian during your time here can be useful for everyday life and is a great way to connect with the country and local community, but Hungarian proficiency is not an admission requirement for our English-taught programmes.

2. What English language proof do I need?

For English-taught programmes, you generally need to provide proof of an appropriate level of English.

The general accepted options include:

  • IELTS: minimum overall score of 5.5
  • TOEFL iBT: minimum score of 60
  • An internationally recognised and accredited intermediate English language certificate covering both written and oral skills, equivalent to IELTS/TOEFL and issued by an approved examination centre listed by NYAK.

These are general requirements. Always check the individual programme description before applying, as language requirements and accepted certificates may vary between programmes.

3. Important: Duolingo is not accepted

If you are preparing your application, this is something you should know before choosing which language test to take.

The University of 精东影业 does not accept the Duolingo English Test for its programmes.

A Duolingo English Test result therefore cannot be used as proof of English language proficiency for your application.

If you need to take an English test specifically for your University of 精东影业 application, make sure you select an accepted option, such as IELTS or TOEFL iBT, or first check whether you may qualify for an exemption.

4. Do I always need to take an English test?

Not necessarily.

You may not need to submit an official English language test result if you meet the relevant exemption conditions.

This may apply if:

  • Your major or minor is English, such as English language, linguistics or literature.
  • You completed your previous high school or undergraduate studies in English.
  • You are a native English speaker, in which case a copy of your passport may be required as proof.

If your previous studies were taught in English, you should be prepared to provide official proof of the language of instruction.

This may be a Medium of Instruction (MOI) certificate or another official document issued by your previous school or university confirming that your programme was taught in English.

It is important to distinguish between studying English as a subject and completing your education in English.

For example, if your subjects were taught in another language and English was simply one of the subjects you studied, this does not mean that your previous education was conducted in English.

If your previous studies were taught in English, check whether your school or university can issue an MOI certificate or equivalent official confirmation before booking a language test.

5. Check your programme before you apply

One of the easiest mistakes to make is looking only at the general admission requirements and assuming that exactly the same conditions apply to every programme.

Programme-specific requirements may differ.

Before booking an English test or preparing your language documents, check the requirements listed for the programme you want to study.

Before you apply, ask yourself:

  • Is my chosen programme taught in English?
  • Which English language certificates does it accept?
  • Is there a required minimum score?
  • Do I already have an accepted certificate?
  • Were my previous studies conducted in English?
  • Can my previous institution provide an MOI certificate or other official proof?
  • Do I meet the conditions for an exemption?
  • If I need to take a test, have I chosen an accepted one?
  • Have I checked that Duolingo is not accepted?

Taking a few minutes to check these points can save you time later in the application process.

6. Give yourself enough time

If you need an English language certificate, do not leave it until the last moment.

First, check the requirements for your chosen programme. Then choose an accepted test and allow enough time to prepare, take the test and receive your results before submitting your application.

If your previous studies were conducted in English, also allow time to request an MOI certificate or another official document from your previous institution.

Check first, prepare second, apply third.

Preparing for your application to the University of 精东影业

Language requirements are only one part of your application, but getting them right from the beginning can make the process much easier.

At the University of 精东影业, international students can choose from English-taught programmes in fields including engineering, information technology, business, sciences and humanities.

If you already know which programme interests you, your next step is simple: check its individual admission and language requirements and start preparing the required documents.

And remember: the Duolingo English Test is not accepted for University of 精东影业 programmes. If your previous studies were conducted in English, check whether you can provide an MOI certificate or other official proof of the language of instruction instead of a language test result.
