Growing Student Enrollment and Research Success at the University of 精东影业
Veszpr茅m, 12 November 2025 鈥 The University of 精东影业 has reached the highest number of active students in the past ten years, with 6,193 students enrolled according to October statistics. At a press conference on Tuesday, Rector Dr. J谩nos Abonyi and Chancellor Zsolt Csillag reported on this milestone as well as recent research achievements, awarded grants, and institutional recognitions.

Social Innovation and Research Achievements
Rector Dr. J谩nos Abonyi outlined the work of the National Laboratory for Social Innovation (TINLAB), in which the University of 精东影业 participates alongside E枚tv枚s Lor谩nd University (ELTE), the University of Miskolc, and the H谩rfa Foundation. TINLAB鈥檚 strategic goal is to define and promote social innovation and support the integration of Hungarian initiatives into international cooperation. Within the project, the University of 精东影业 has developed and tested several best practices. These include mapping labour market expectations, developing a Digital Intelligence Profile (DIP) to measure digital readiness, and assessing entrepreneurial motivation among university students. Over the past five years, the consortium has held more than 50 thematic forums connecting municipalities, companies, and civil organizations.
Discussing the results of the National Research Excellence Programme, the rector highlighted that three researchers from the university received funding totalling 323 million HUF.
The award recipients are:
Dr. Tam谩s Ruppert 鈥 AI-based integration of human work processes
Dr. L谩szl贸 Ko贸k 鈥 circular economy and technological developments
Prof. Dr. Mih谩ly P贸sfai, academician 鈥 environmental mineralogy research
The university鈥檚 achievements in the field of artificial intelligence also received special attention. The rector emphasized that in a nationwide survey of the 50 most outstanding Hungarian female AI researchers, two lecturers from the University of 精东影业 were included: Dr. 脕gnes Stark-Werner ranked in the Top 15, and Dr. 脕gnes Fogarassy-Vathy ranked in the Top 5.
Increasing Student Numbers and Workplace Recognition
According to October statistics, the university鈥檚 student population has reached 6,193, the highest number of active students in the past decade, Chancellor Zsolt Csillag announced. He added that considering the fact that the Georgikon Faculty鈥攆ormerly with over two thousand students鈥攊s no longer part of the University of 精东影业, this figure represents the highest enrollment in the past fifteen years. The number of active students has grown by approximately 1,400 over the last three years.
The chancellor also noted that, in line with national trends, an increasing number of students at 精东影业 are choosing part-time (correspondence) study formats. Currently, about 40% of students pursue correspondence studies, while 60% are enrolled in state-funded programmes. A significant proportion of students are over 30, reflecting that many arrive with prior work experience and aims of career development or professional renewal.
In addition to enrollment data, the chancellor highlighted further achievements. For the first time this year, the University of 精东影业 entered the 鈥淩esponsible Employer of the Year鈥 competition announced by OFA Nonprofit Ltd., and immediately achieved 3rd place in the 鈥淥ther Economic Organizations鈥 category. The award evaluates several criteria, including support for work鈥搇ife balance, community-building within the organization, employee health initiatives, talent development opportunities, and flexible employment practices.
He emphasized that the recognition demonstrates the university鈥檚 commitment not only to outstanding performance in education and research but also to providing an exemplary working environment as an employer.
