Direct EU Research Funding Once Again Available to the University of 精东影业
New opportunities are opening up for researchers at the University of 精东影业: with the lifting of funding restrictions, they will once again be able to implement their research plans with direct EU funding, participate in international projects, and lead their own consortia. In addition to research collaborations, the decision could also provide new momentum for student and staff mobility, as well as joint educational development initiatives.
WHAT HAS CHANGED?
According to information released on 13 October 2026, the Council of the European Union has approved the lifting of EU funding restrictions affecting universities maintained by public interest foundations. This means that the University of 精东影业 will once again have the opportunity to participate in EU-funded programmes, including Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe, as well as other EU programmes such as Digital Europe, LIFE, EU4Health, CERV, and Creative Europe.
The decision will take effect on the date Hungary receives official notification. According to the Directorate for Development and Projects, this process had not yet been completed at the time the article was updated. Participation and funding under individual programmes may begin in accordance with the conditions of the relevant calls for proposals and the applicable application and contracting procedures.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR RESEARCHERS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF PANNONIA?
Under the Horizon Europe programme, it will once again be possible to participate as a beneficiary receiving direct EU funding and, subject to the conditions of the relevant calls, to take on the role of consortium coordinator. This will provide greater flexibility for our researchers to establish international collaborations around their own project ideas or contribute their expertise to initiatives led by other institutions.
It is therefore worth revisiting previous partnerships, research plans currently under preparation, and calls for proposals expected in the next application period. For ongoing projects, any potential changes in status and funding arrangements must be addressed separately, in accordance with the conditions of the relevant calls and in consultation with project partners.
ERASMUS+: MOBILITY AND PROFESSIONAL COOPERATION
Under the Erasmus+ programme, the restriction preventing the conclusion of new EU grant agreements will be lifted. This will once again open up opportunities for funded student and staff mobility, as well as cooperation projects.
The actual start dates and availability of funding will depend on the relevant application and contracting procedures. According to current expectations, Erasmus+ exchanges may resume from the spring semester at the earliest.
