Call for Applications – International Picnic Culinary Grant

Call for Applications – International Picnic Culinary Grant

Within the framework of the Stipendium Hungaricum project, we are announcing a call for applications for international students to carry out the following tasks related to the organization and implementation of the International Picnic.

The purpose of the International Picnic Culinary Grant is to enable selected international students to prepare and present a culturally representative food contribution at the International Picnic Event. Each participant will contribute small, easily consumable food items that reflect their national or cultural culinary traditions.

The concept of the food presentation is inspired by the Argentine picada, where each country presents small bites served on toothpicks or skewers, allowing for easy sharing and informal consumption during the event.

1. Grant Overview

A total of 25 grants of 20,000 HUF each will be awarded to selected applicants.

To ensure broad international representation, the selection process will initially prioritize one student per country. Should any grants remain unallocated, the selection committee reserves the right to award additional grants to multiple students from the same country.

2. Obligations of Grant Recipients

Participation in the International Picnic Event is mandatory for all grant recipients. By accepting the grant, recipients commit to the following responsibilities:

  • preparation and cooking of a dish representing their country of origin
  • timely arrival at the event with the prepared food
  • active participation in the execution and smooth running of the event
  • assistance with post-event cleaning and closing procedures
  • proactive communication and cooperation during the preparation phase

Grant recipients are required to remain on site for an additional 30 minutes after the official end of the event to support clean-up activities.

The scholarship recipient is entitled to a one-time scholarship of 20,000 HUF, which will be transferred within 10 working days following the signing of the decision. However, if the recipient fails to fulfill the required obligations, they will be required to repay the amount.

3. Event Details

Date: 30 April

Time: 17:30 – 19:00

Post-event duties: 30-minute mandatory clean-up period

4. Application Procedure
